Stretch marks are caused when the skin stretches (hint the name stretch) due to weight gain or shrinkage caused by weight loss. Stretch marks appear on the arms, butts, legs, and stomach. Itchy skin in those areas can be an early sign of stretch marks that may appear. Stretch marks are part of the skin however, it does have its own texture. First, it is raised and secondly, it feels like dented lines when it is touched. Moisturizing is great for your skin. It can help with preventing and decreasing the appearance of stretch marks and also, improving skin elasticity.
